Gulliver's Travels
Dust jacket design for Jonathan Swift's classic tale Gulliver's Travels was created by coating white clayboard with black gouache and then carving my illustration through the black gouache to reveal the image in white.
The design was meant to hearken back to old woodcut illustrations, and was illustrated to make the book more appealing to young children who may not be eager to read such a large book. The type in the logo is set in Clarendon and plays with scale as a nod at the various lands that Gulliver visits throughout the book.
